Cassie MacKay
Malpeque
Cassie MacKay
Cassie MacKay is a passionate advocate for social justice.
Having spent her formative years in the beautiful riding of Malpeque, Cassie is aware of the unique challenges rural ridings face and is ready to work with the community to find real solutions.
While studying at Athabasca University, Cassie was a proud member of the university’s student union, becoming a councillor and the chair of 3 committees. But her advocacy doesn’t stop there. Cassie is a vocal advocate for better public transit infrastructure, connecting neighbourhoods within her community with the reliability and quality that residents deserve. Cassie also knows the value that small businesses bring to her community, as the founder and former owner of her own small business, Shooting Star Social Media.
Having also worked as a substitute teacher in the public school system, Cassie is in touch with the needs of the education system, parents, and younger generations. She knows that proper funding, not cuts, will help create an environment where kids can learn, teachers have the support they need, and parents can trust that their children are being given the best education.
In her spare time, Cassie can be found volunteering at Health PEI and leading events for Team Jagmeet.
Cassie is ready to bring real change to Malpeque – change that makes life more affordable for everyone. She would be honoured to earn the trust of the people of Malpeque, and to bring their voices to Ottawa.
